Academic Degree Programs
Undergraduate Programs
Our undergraduate students receive a strong traditional business education in accounting, business management, or economics, each offering a number of concentrations that allow students to tailor their studies to their individual interests. They also may participate in honors programs and international opportunities offered through the college and the university. Student organizations offer opportunities to develop leadership skills; project courses, lecture series and other opportunities offered through our centers and initiatives further develop their professionalism and readiness for the business environment.
Graduate Programs
At the graduate level, we offer the
- Master of Business Administration (MBA)
- Master of Accounting (MAC)
- Master of Global Innovation Management
- Master's and Doctoral programs in Economics
Our MBA students select from eight concentrations that provide focused classroom and experiential learning, working with companies on projects arranged by our faculty members individually or through our centers and initiatives. Many of our project-based courses were developed in partnership with other NC State colleges, providing all our students a rich, multidisciplinary learning experience that reflects today's real business environment.
Our Managerial and Career Effectiveness courses for our MBA and MAC programs enable our students to develop personal professionalism while building their communications knowledge and skills base. Project-based instruction and internships provide practical experience that translates into added value for future employers.
Our Master of Global Innovation Management (MGIM) program was designed to give engineering, science and other technology-oriented students a strong exposure to core business management skills while providing in-depth exposure to a host of global innovation management issues. This one-year program awards two master degrees: a degree from NC State University and a degree from the Université Paul Cézanne. The first class begins in fall 2008.
Our Graduate Economics Program has a long history of training students for careers in academia, government and the private sector. The curriculum is taught by over 50 graduate faculty members from both the College of Management and College of Agriculture and Life Sciences (CALS) at NC State University, offering a variety of fields of specialization including Macro-Monetary Economics, International Trade, Econometrics, Agricultural Economics and Environmental and Resource Economics. Given the program's strong empirical focus, our alumni have excelled not only in academia and government, but also in the corporate world with many of our graduates entering into applied research divisions of the private sector.
