Entrepreneurship Education Initiative
Phase 4: Gaining Experience
The fourth phase of the process allows students to gain practical experience through working in an entrepreneurial environment. Students have the opportunity to apply the skills and knowledge acquired during the first three phases to individual projects. For example, student projects in a start up environment are involved with all aspects of the start up including doing research, developing the concept, writing the business plan and obtaining funds. Individual projects are dependant on specific needs.
The business community is very supportive of the entrepreneurship curriculum that NC State has established and has expressed great interest in working with our students during phase four. There are weekly group meetings with the students and professors, as well as performance measures throughout the project to ensure that all parties benefit from the relationship.
