Entrepreneurship Education Initiative
Phase 5: Generating Opportunity
Students can make use of the opportunities that are presented throughout the entrepreneurship process upon graduation or they could wait several years to launch or be a team member of a venture. The final phase of the entrepreneurship process at NC State focuses on further generating opportunities for our graduating students.
Through the creation of the EEI Alumni Network, EEI students and graduates are provided access to mentors, angel investors and venture capitalists to accelerate their success. A database of former students is being maintained to keep alumni informed and updated about activities, speakers, competitions and events in the College of Management to further stimulate interest in these programs and continue the relationships that we have built with these students throughout the entrepreneurship process. This continued relationship also ensures that our current and future students have access to a large number of experienced individuals and potential mentors. We have created a loop in the process where EEI alumni develop a sense of ownership of the EEI. They take an active role in participating with the program as adjunct professors, guest speakers, attending events, providing feedback and funding to provide an environment of growth and continuous improvement of the EEI.
