Logos
The college logo [it appears on this website] is being used for all print, web and other marketing and communications materials, including promotional materials and commemorative items.
Pictures
Photos of special events, guest lecturers, student and faculty outreach and engagement activities, and special interest activities are always needed for the website, college and university communications. The communciations director will take photos whenever possible, or assist in making other arrangements. A college camera is available for use as well. Departments or programs taking pictures on their own are encouraged to submit high resolution images to the communications office for college and university use. A media release form should be used when taking photos that may be used in college communications. Contact the communcations office for details.
All faculty and staff are encouraged to have a portrait photo taken by the university photographer. Contact the photographer, Roger Winstead, to make arrangements. One photo should be taken upon joining the college and every four to five years thereafter. Tell the photographer that you are having a portrait photo taken for the college at the request of the communications director. The photos should be sent to the communications director when completed. These photos are used in the college's online directory pages and are available when needed for professional use by faculty and staff. Contact the communications director to request a copy of your photo.
Stories/News Releases/Media Advisories
The communications office sends news releases and media advisories regarding recently published research, special projects involving corporations, outreach/service activities, special speakers, awards and recognition, and significant or unique grants or gift awards, and other significant college news. Faculty, staff and students are encouraged to contact the communications director to discuss story ideas.
The communcations office also is making available to the news media the college's online Faculty Experts Guide, and uses this guide when responding to reporter queries for faculty experts. Please notify the communications director when changes are needed to your information in the Faculty Experts Guide
Planning Calendar
To help faculty, staff and student organization advisors in planning college events, a College Planning Calendar is now available online. Submit your items for posting to the calendar.
First Citizen's Speakers Bureau
The college's speakers bureau is offered as a service to organizations and companies seeking presenters on business topics. Faculty are encouraged to submit topics about which they could speak at such engagements. For details, view the Speakers' Bureau information in the Corporate Visitors section of this website. If you would like to be listed in the Speakers' Bureau or wish to update your presentation topics, please contact the communications director.
In the News
The communications office is documenting stories that appear about college faculty/staff/students or college programs. Please send news clippings or notes regarding broadcast stories to Anna Rzewnicki, electronically when possible.
Electronic Newsletters
The college's ENEWS for faculty/staff and for Undergraduates are updated continuously. Links to these pages are each Tuesday. Submit news and information to the ENEWS in lieu of sending individual, non-urgent, email messages throughout the week. Student organization advisors are asked to remind student groups to submit their events for posting to the student newsletters.
