Groupwise and Bronto: efforts under way to resolve their differences again

As you have seen over the past year or two, the college and several other units on campus have been using Bronto, a specialized email message delivery system, for messages about events and other major college news. This tool includes useful time-saving features, such as online registration and tracking of opens/click-throughs and other options to help monitor the effectiveness of our messaging.

A Bronto message sent Monday evening about our Nov. 5 Wachovia lecture landed in the university's new spam filter system. Our Groupwise staff have been working on the problem this week and think they've got it resolved. A repeat message will be sent to the college's faculty/staff this afternoon to test the 'fix' ... please send a note back to Anna Rzewnicki if you find the message in your spam filter when you check it next. Or, if you receive it, just send a reply message to let her know it arrived safely.

SPI & FFS: Recent additions to our Centers & Initiatives

You may have noticed two additions under the Centers & Initiatives tab on our website. FFS is Foundations for Free Societies, which hosts the annual Pope Lecture Series, provides leadership for the SPEL (Students for Politics, Economics and Law) group, and supports curriculum development and research. Steve Margolis is the lead faculty for this initiative. The SPI Initiative is supporting research, outreach and coursework development in two areas: innovation management and professional service management. Mitzi Montoya is executive director, with partners John McCreery, Tony O'Driscoll, Lynda Aiman-Smith completing the leadership team.

Watch for feature stories about these in the near future.
