Groupwise calendar note

Message from College of Management Computing Services

Any entries already in place on your GroupWise calendar between the second Sunday of March and the first Sunday of April for any upcoming year will be displayed incorrectly once all patches are in place.  This is also true for any entries already in place between the last Sunday of October and the first Sunday of November.

For 2007, the specific dates are March 11 through April 1, and October 28 through November 4, all inclusive.

For the ranges indicated, it is recommended that you modify the subject line of each entry and add the actual times.  If you have a StaffMeeting on the schedule for Tuesday, March 13, 2007, in the 10:30 am to noon time slot, modify it to read Staff Meeting (10:30 a.m. - 12) in the subject line.  That way you will know the correct time of the meeting even if it shifts on your calendar.  For additional information please contact Donna Barrett.

Classroom Technology

Provost's note regarding classroom use of MP3 files

As NC State increasingly utilizes technology to enhance teaching and learning, we must do so in compliance with applicable laws and university policies. To this end, the University is requiring that any faculty member who creates MP3 files or other audio or video recordings of their lectures and offers them through a commercial vendor must also provide a copy to the Library.

Please contact Carolyn Argentati for more information. The Library will provide free access to the file through its electronic reserve system to the students currently enrolled in the class.  The Library also has MP3 players and other media players available for loan, so students without a player can borrow one and access the files.

Faculty or staff who have been using the university's inFORM tool to create online forms will need to change to the new version by March 1. Version 2 will stop running on March 1. Further details can be found at SYSNEWS.
