Annual enrollment for the State Health Plan
Annual enrollment for the State Health Plan will take place from March 1 through March 30, and be effective July 1, 2007. The purpose of the annual enrollment is to select a different plan or change your plan design. If you do nothing, you will remain in your current plan. You will receive a mailing at your home address with more information. For additional details, please see the State Health Plan and the University Benefits website. To determine which plan you are currently enrolled in, log in on the administrative portal.
Sawyers will be answering tax questions on WUNC TV Sunday, Apr. 1
Roby Sawyers, professor of acccouting, will be appearing on Tax Break, a call-in program presented annually by WUNC-TV. He will be answering on-air questions along with representatives from the North Carolina Department of Reveue and Internal Revenue Service. Tune in, 3-4 p.m. He also is doing a presentation to the NC State Board of Visitors tomorrow.
Annual Dean's List party Apr. 3
All faculty are invited to the annual Dean's List Party on Tuesday, April 3. Please stop by the Nelson Student Commons anytime between 4:00 -5:00 pm to help celebrate the accomplishments of your students. Refreshments and light snacks will be provided by La Farm Bakery.
Conference for Women RSVP Deadline is Apr. 5
Women faculty and staff members are encouraged to register for the Apr. 13 Conference for Women, to be held at Exploris this year. The theme is 'What's Luck Got to do with It?" The planning committee has lined up a great discussion panel, experiential activity, and keynote presenter. There is no charge for faculty, staff or women graduate students of the college to attend. Register today to save a spot.
Nominations now being accepted for Board of Advisors Outstanding Student Award
Nominations are now being accepted for the Board of Advisors Outstanding Student Award for an undergraduate who will be graduating in May. To nominate a student, please write a short letter highlighting his or her many outstanding attributes. Nominees will be evaluated based on their service to the college, university or student organizations, particularly for accomplishments outside of academics.
Nominees will be asked to submit a resume and a one page paper on college spirit. Please send all nominations to Kim Orlowski by Friday, April 6. All nominees will be recognized in front of their families and friends at Commencement. For additional information, please contact Millie Herget.
Reminder concerning textbook orders
The deadlines for ordering textbooks for the summer and fall are quickly approaching. Summer orders are due by March 15 and fall orders are due by April 5. Order can be placed here. If you have any questions please contact Don Bonnewell or Kim Orlowski.
Catch the spirit: Business & Breakfast, Real Deal Field Day
Faculty, staff and students are encouraged to take a break for a bit of outdoor activity and food at the 'Real Deal Field Day' on Thursday, Apr. 12, at the Maryanne Fox Field. The event is co-sponsored by the undergraduate Integrated Marketing Communications Class (BUS 465) and the College of Management Student Advisory Board (COMSAB). The students are also hosting a Business & Breakfast gathering on Tuesday, Apr. 10. Read more
Ethics case competition to be held April 18
The 3rd Annual $1,000 Business Ethics Case Competition will be held April 18, 2007. The theme this year is "Business Ethics Excellence for RFID [in the retail industry]."
This competition is open to undergraduate and graduate students in the NC State College of Management.
Rzewnicki named to Triangle AMA Board
Anna Rzewnicki, the college's director of communcations, has been elected vice president of collegiate relations for the Triangle American Marketing Association, for 2007-08.

Native American Student Association Pow Wow
Faculty, staff and students are invited to attend this year’s Native American Student Association Pow Wow on March 31 at noon in Carmichael Gymnasium. The event will feature dance contests in several different style categories, as well as host drums. For more information, check out the flyer or contact Brett Locklear. The event is free to NC State students, faculty and staff.
United Nations Association Human Rights Conference
The Wake County and West Triangle Chapters of the United Nations Association will be hosting a conference entitled “Human Rights, an Endangered Concept: The United Nations and the Advancement of Human Rights.” The conference will examine the role of the United Nations in advancing human rights. In addition, practical ideas about how ordinary citizens can work to advance human rights will be discussed.
