Website Evolving ... to Better Tell the College Story, Build Community
Friday, Dec 12, 2008
The Internet is a dynamic, community-driven environment whose users are continually offering up new communications tools. The NC State College of Management's communications team is responding by evaluating the options and incorporating the most effective into the college's website.
In the past six months, several portions of the website have been updated with new templates that highlight college news, events announcements and other college information. We have added RSS feeds for those who want automatic headlines updates, easy registration for events announcements, and the opportunity to register for the Dean’s Update and other college news. We’re also incorporating audio interviews, video clips, blogs and other options that help our viewers join in the NC State College of Management experience.
Our Center for Innovation Management Studies has created a highly interactive, robust site that enables viewers to sample research-based management tools, view research reports and its archived newsletter series, and much more. Our MBA Program has also updated its website, helping to build a cohesive online community for current and former students. Read about the NC State Jenkins MBA program’s use of social media – as well as the work of one of the NC State Jenkins MBA alumni.
We will be updated the sites of other college initiatives and programs in the months ahead, continuing to add new features and moving the entire site to our new design. At the same time, we are researching tools and applications so that our site continues to offer a meaningful experience for our visitors.
Less Print, More Online
As we work more in the electronic media, you will be seeing fewer print communications from the college. This will help us conserve both material and financial resources and enable us to communicate more effectively with those who want to hear from us.
We encourage our alumni to update their contact information with the NC State University Alumni Association, so that we can stay in touch. You are an important part of the college community, and we would like to keep you up to date on the news of the college and opportunities to get involved.
We are also mindful of your privacy rights, and so we invite you to use the registration tools mentioned above to be sure you are receiving the information you want. If you register and decide you no longer want to receive the announcements, you can easily unsubscribe by using the link at the bottom of each announcement that comes your way.
And finally, we welcome your feedback. Please use the links below to reach the right person with your comments.
