ePACK

You should have recently received an ePACK password from University Career Services. To log-in to ePACK use your unity ID and this password. If you do not remember the password given to you, there should be a link titled "remind me of password".

UNITY EMAIL ADDRESS CORRESPONDENCE

Effective Monday, August 13, 2007, your Unity email address will become the address that NC State uses for correspondence with you. Email regarding your classes, student information, eBILLs and correspondence from faculty will be sent to your Unity address. To check your Unity email, you can use Webmail (http://webmail.ncsu.edu), or you can use an IMAP-compliant email client--see http://www.ncsu.edu/resnet/email/email_setup.php for more information.

The change on August 13th will overwrite any non-Unity email address you may have as your preferred email address in PackTracks. If you still want to get your university related emails at a non-NCSU address, you will need to forward your Unity email to that other address. To forward your Unity email, please visit the Unity forwarding page located at: https://sysnews.ncsu.edu/tools-bin/usmdb-forwards

For more information on the email address information that NC State maintains, please see http://www.ncsu.edu/it/essentials/email_messaging/address-changes-2007.html

If you have questions, please contact the NC State Help Desk at 515-HELP, help@ncsu.edu, or http://help.ncsu.edu.

MAC ORIENTATION

We are kicking off the Fall 2007 semester with MAC Orientation, scheduled for Friday, August 24th. Team building and informational activities will be planned for both the morning and afternoon, so mark your calendars now. We'll send you more information on orientation in a later newsletter, but it is expected to last from 8:00 a.m - 3:30 p.m approximately.

Many of you may have received an e-mail from the NC State Graduate School concerning the New Graduate Student Orientation that the University has scheduled for Tuesday, August 21. Since the MAC Program provides you with our own orientation session, you are not required to attend the University's session on the 21st - it is an optional activity instead. The morning session on the 21st does provide general information useful for all graduate students, which some of you may be interested in hearing.

MAC LAB

All MAC students have access to the MAC Lab, in Nelson 1418. There are computers and work spaces for your use, along with a refrigerator, microwave, etc. The doors to the MAC Lab have keyless-entry locks. The codes to these locks will be sent to you in a separate email. Please guard these codes and do not give them out to non-MAC students.

You also have access to a locker in the graduate area. If you would like to use a locker please select one that does not already have a lock on it, and e-mail Ryan Platin with the locker number. You will be responsible for anything left inside the locker-so protect yourself and lock it after use!

PAPERWORK FOR FALL PAYCHECKS

If you have been assigned as a Faculty Assistant, ACC 220 General Assistant, Accounting Clinic Assistant, or ACC 220 Lab Instructor and have not yet completed your department paperwork, please see Ryan Platin as soon as possible. Be sure to bring a copy of your social security card and your driver's license - Ryan needs them to process your paperwork - which you need to get paid in the fall.

RESCHEDULED FALL CLASS PERIODS

To help those that will be job searching this fall, classes have been moved Wednesdays-Fridays during the weeks of October 10 - October 26th. Classes will still meet on Mondays and Tuesdays during those weeks, but the last half of the week is open for recruiting office visits.

To make up for the missed days, we will be rescheduling those classes for the same times (1:30-2:45, 3:00-4:15) on four Fridays throughout the semester. Right now, we expect them to be two Fridays in September and two in November. The November dates will be:

Friday, November 9th - ACC 519 & ACC 533
Friday, November 16th - ACC 519 & ACC 533
