ACC 600 MANAGERIAL AND CAREER EFFECTIVENESS
Because the recruitment process begins with the start of the semester, we have scheduled several workshops/activities that will not be held during our regular class time on Fridays from 10:15am – 12:05pm. KPMG CAREERS AND MAJORS INTERACTIVE TOOL
Check out the following tool for information related to the many service lines you may be qualified to apply for at KPMG and at other public accounting firms. Useful descriptions of all the service lines can also be found using the tool.
BETA ALPHA PSI HONORS ACCOUNTING ORGANIZATION
NC State University’s Beta Alpha Psi Chapter is an active accounting organization with membership from both the MAC Program and undergraduate accounting program.The chapter holds four meetings with networking socials each semester with representatives of accounting firms and corporations.The organization also offers social and service events.Please attend one of the following two information sessions to learn more about the organization.

The first BAP meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, August 28 from 7:30pm - 8:30pm in Nelson Hall 2405.The topic of the meeting is a panel discussion on “Careers in Accounting”.The networking social will be held before the meeting from 7:00pm - 7:30pm in the Nelson Commons Area.Dress is business casual.
UNITY EMAIL ADDRESS CORRESPONDENCE
As of Monday, August 27, the MAC Program will be using your unity email address for all communication. Please be sure to check this email address on a regular basis.
Effective Monday, August 13, 2007, your Unity email address will become the address that NC State uses for correspondence with you. Email regarding your classes, student information, eBILLs and correspondence from faculty will be sent to your Unity address. To check your Unity email, you can use Webmail (http://webmail.ncsu.edu), or you can use an IMAP-compliant email client--see http://www.ncsu.edu/resnet/email/email_setup.php for more information.
The change on August 13th will overwrite any non-Unity email address you may have as your preferred email address in PackTracks. If you still want to get your university related emails at a non-NCSU address, you will need to forward your Unity email to that other address. To forward your Unity email, please visit the Unity forwarding page located at: https://sysnews.ncsu.edu/tools-bin/usmdb-forwards

GRADUATE ASSISTANT POSITIONS
Many of you will be working as Graduate Assistants (GAs) for faculty, ACC 220, or the Accounting Clinic this semester. If you have not already done so,please touch base with your faculty supervisor in the next day or so to find out your assignments, etc. You can just stop by their office, e-mail, or call. Making the effort here does show a lot of initiative to your faculty supervisor!

There have been some changes in classrooms. Please go by the following and not by what is listed on your schedule:

NELSON HALL ACCESS
Please read the following about access into Nelson Hall. When class is in session:
1) All doors are unlocked from Monday through Thursday from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.
2) All doors are unlocked on Friday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.
3) The exterior door by the computing labs in the basement is also unlocked on Saturday from 1 p.m to 5 p.m. and on Sunday from 12:00 p.m.
to 8 p.m.
If you will need access to Nelson beyond the hours above please complete and sign the fob agreement form and return to Kathy Krawczyk or Andrea Young with a check payable to NC State University for $25.00. This is a refundable deposit.
The fob will only open two doors - the double gray doors and the ADA door in the east courtyard on the Brooks Avenue side of Nelson Hall.
Please note that several of the exterior doors are exit only at all times.
RESCHEDULED FALL CLASS PERIODS
To help those that will be job searching this fall, classes have been moved Wednesdays-Fridays during the weeks of October 10 - October 26th. Classes will still meet on Mondays and Tuesdays during those weeks, but the last half of the week is open for recruiting office visits.
To make up for the missed days, we will be rescheduling those classes for the same times (1:30-2:45, 3:00-4:15) on four Fridays throughout the semester. Right now, we expect them to be two Fridays in September and two in November. The November dates will be:

Friday, November 16th - ACC 519 & ACC 533
