Admissions Process
The Admission Committee will review your application. Interviews
are required for applicants for both the full-time and part-time
MBA programs, and we will notify you if you have
been selected to interview. Approximately 30 days after the application
deadline and interview, we will inform you of the committee's recommendation
of admission or denial. You will receive a letter from the Dean
of the Graduate School with the official decision. For security
reasons, we do not give admission decisions on the telephone.
All admissions decisions are final. If you are denied admission, you may reapply
the following year. The MBA Office holds all applications materials for one
year, so you will not need to resubmit transcripts or GMAT scores unless your
scores or transcripts have changed.
You must enroll under the status for which you applied. To change from full-time
status to part-time status, or vice versa, you must re-apply to the program.
As you consider your odds for admission, benchmark yourself against the current
qualifications of our most recent entering class.
Interview Policy & Process
Interviews are conducted by invitation only for applicants to the
program. Applicants to the MBA program are selected to interview
based on the quality of the completed application. We will not
offer admission to a candidate until he/she has
completed a personal interview with a member of our Admissions
Committee.
If you are chosen to interview, we will send you an email message that describes
the process for scheduling an interview and the date by which the interview
must be completed. You will be notified via telephone if you do not have access
to email.
Interviews are conducted on campus in the NC State MBA Program office. If this
is not possible, we will arrange a telephone interview.

Transfer Policy
The NC State MBA Program can accept up to 12 hours of transfer
credit from another AACSB-accredited MBA program. The grade received
for a transfer class must be a "B" or better, and the class must have been
taken no more than six years prior to the applicant's projected
graduation date from the MBA Program at NC State's College of Management.
Students must be in good academic standing when they leave their previous program in order for transfer credits to be accepted. Once an applicant has been admitted to the program, the MBA director will
determine the number of credit hours and which courses will be transferred.

Lifelong Education Policy
Since 1995, the MBA program has restricted access to graduate courses taught in the College of Management to students who are enrolled as degree candidates in graduate programs at NC State University. Our policy was implemented for three main reasons:
- AACSB International accreditation standards require graduate programs in management to be restricted to graduate students.
- MBA courses taught in the evening are at full capacity and cannot accommodate additional students.
- To maintain academic rigor in the program, all students must be screened and meet required scholastic and professional criteria.
Laptop Requirement
The College of Management’s MBA program requires all students admitted to the program to own or have access to a laptop computer. For more information about minimum specifications and details on purchasing a laptop, please see:
