How to teach children about financial matters has been a continuing struggle for parents and educators alike. As part of her professional responsibilities, Cohen promotes and oversees financial literacy efforts in the state. At this “In the Money” session on financial literacy, she will be discussing what is happening statewide and sharing best practices for teaching financial literacy to youth at home, in the community, and at school. A graduate of the University of California-Los Angeles and Loyola Law School, Cohen practiced law in California and New York before moving to North Carolina.
Cohen has extensive experience in strategic development, particularly in the non-profit sector, and has a passion for community work and public programs. This session will be particularly meaningful for those interested in helping children gain the knowledge that they will need to make informed financial decisions as consumers.
