SCRC Conference to focus on Sustaining the Global Supply Chain

April 18, 2007 - The Supply Chain Resource Cooperative (SCRC) at NC State’s College of Management will hold its spring 2007 meeting on April 26-27 at the NC State McKimmon Center.

The focus of this meeting is “Sustaining the Global Supply Chain.” The two-day program includes a panel discussion on Designing the Global Supply Chain, as well as several presentations by professionals and students teams reporting on projects completed for SCRC member companies.

Faculty, graduate and undergraduate students at NC State University and others interested in supply chain management are welcome to attend the public sessions, including the panel discussion and topical presentations.

The panel discussion will be held Apr. 26, 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. Panelists are:

  • Rick Monical, Chevron Corporation
  • Britt Dayton, Lowes Corporation
  • Jeff Townley, Nortel Networks; and
  • Richard Lolich, Maritime Administration, U.S. Department of Transportation.

The discussion will be moderated by Rob Handfield, Bank of America Distinguished University Professor at the NC State College of Management. Handfield also is director of the SCRC.

Handfield, who earlier this year was added to the Pro to Know list by Supply Chain and Demand magazine, will also present a talk on Sustaining the Global Supply Chain, 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. on Apr. 26.

Additional presenters are:

  • Richard Lolich, Maritime Administration, U.S. Department of Transportation, will give a talk on Marine Transportation in the Global Supply Chain Network, Apr. 26, 12:30 to 1:30 p.m.
  • Jeff Townley, with Nortel Networks, will give a presentation on Business Made Simple on April 27, 4 p.m. to 5 p.m.
