Three new Park Scholars joining College of Management in fall 2008
April 11, 2008 – Three of the 55 Park Scholars coming to North Carolina State University this fall plan to major in business. They are Caitlin Leigh Cox from Salisbury, Taylor Daniel Abalos Creedon of Fayetteville, and Marycobb Brabham Randall of Greenville.
The Park Scholars program is one of the nation's most prestigious undergraduate merit scholarship programs. The scholarship covers the full cost of education, related expenses and enrichment activities in order to develop leadership skills and civic awareness. This year, winners were selected from a pool of more than 1,000 highly-qualified applicants.
Caitlin Leigh Cox
Cox is president of the National Honor Society, editor-in-chief of the yearbook, and executive vice president of the Student Government Association at West Rowan High School. She is an active participant in Relay for Life, was named an Advanced Placement Scholar, and has lettered in tennis, basketball, and soccer.
Taylor Daniel Abalos Creedon
Creedon is captain of his varsity soccer team, treasurer of the National Honor Society and founder of the Ping-Pong Club at Terry Sanford High School in Fayetteville. He also tutors and coaches recreation league soccer in his free time.
Marycobb Brabham Randall
Randall is president of both the Student Government Association and the National Honors Society at J.H. Rose High School in Greenville. She has also contributed over 500 hours of her time to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Pitt County. She published a 100-page book entitled “You Are My Inspiration,” a collection of writing by the children at the Boys & Girls Club. She has also been distinguished as a recipient of a Congressional Award Gold Medal, Congress’ only award for youth, for showing outstanding service to her community.
