Enterprise Risk Management Initiative, N.C. Commissioner of Banks to present Advanced Directors' College

Raleigh, N.C. – July 31, 2008 - The Enterprise Risk Management Initiative at North Carolina State University College of Management and the North Carolina Commissioner of Banks are presenting an Advanced Directors' College on September 25 and 26 at the Grandover Resort in Greensboro, N.C. The topic is: The Board's Role in Strategy and Risk Oversight: Emerging Best Practices.

This compact workshop is designed to help bank boards and audit committees meet and exceed expectations for effective oversight of bank strategic planning and risk management. The workshop presenters will discuss:

  • Emerging expectations for boards
  • Managing increasing demands placed on audit committees: trends and practices
  • Practical insights for audit committees
  • The board's role in strategic planning and M&A activities
  • Creating value in challenging times

The Enterprise Risk Management Initiative at NC State College of Management serves to advance knowledge and best practices that help business leaders manage risk more effectively across the enterprise and to remain competitive. It does this through research, workshops and other professional development programs, as well as new courses in ERM for students in the Jenkins Graduate School of Management at the NC State College of Management.
