Power Up: An Analysis of the Energy Market is topic of June 18 In the Money program

In the Money logoMay 31, 2008 - Power Up: An Analysis of the Energy Market is the topic of the June 18 luncheon program presented by In the Money, an informal financial education program offered by the North Carolina State University College of Management and Scott & Stringfellow, Inc., a BB&T Corporation affiliate. This is the third in the series of In the Money programs and the first to be offered as a luncheon program. Previous sessions were breakfast programs.  

Discussing the current topic will be John H. Bocock, founder and portfolio manager at Dynamis Advisors, LLC. The program begins with lunch at 11:30 a.m., with Bocock’s presentation beginning at 12 noon, followed by a question and answer session. The June 18 event will be held at the Carolina Country Club, 2500 Glenwood Avenue in Raleigh. There is a $20 charge to attend, and reservations are required. At the meeting, Tom Landsittel, vice president and branch manager for the Raleigh office of Scott & Stringfellow, will present the North Carolina Council on Economic Education’s First Annual Scott & Stringfellow Stock Market Scholarship for Teachers. The award is being presented to a teacher in the Raleigh school district who has excelled in teaching students about the stock market.


About the speaker:
John Bocock is founder and portfolio manager at Dynamis Advisors, LLC, and general partner of the Dynamis Energy Funds. He also is a founding partner and portfolio manager at Investment Management of Virginia, LLC.

Bocock has managed energy-specific and diversified investment portfolios since 1997. He has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Dartmouth College and an M.B.A. from the Darden School at the University of Virginia, and serves on the board of Power Systems and Controls and Portico Publications. He served as a naval special warfare officer from 1990 to 1993.
