About the Services and Product Innovation Management Initiative
Innovation is the source of value creation for companies and nations, and innovation management is a process that requires specific tools and practices.
Services management applies insights from scientific, management and engineering perspectives to analyze how to align people and technology effectively to generate value for both services providers and clients.
Services and product innovation are complementary, drawing on the same underlying disciplines and principles. That is why faculty at NC State's College of Management brought them both under one umbrella, the Services and Production Innovation Management Initiative (SPI).

The SPI Initiative works with the Center for Innovation Management Studies, other College of Management initiatives, and colleagues at other colleges across campus and beyond, to leverage resources and provide complete solutions to its corporate partners.
SPI oversees the college's educational and research activities related to services and product innovation, including the Services Management and Innovation Management concentrations in the MBA Program in the college's Jenkins Graduate School of Management, and works with the college's Executive Programs office to develop and deliver outreach programs for business and industry.
