Services Management and Consulting Concentration

In 2006, NC State became the first university in the United States to launch a masters-level curriculum in Service Science, Management and Engineering (SSME).

The SSME programs at NC State draw on research and teaching in the fields of business strategy, management sciences, social science, computer science and computer engineering, to help students develop the skills required in a technology-based, services-led economy.

As part of the SSME launch, the College of Management added an MBA Program concentration in Services Management, and in 2007, expanded that concentration to encompass Services Management and Consulting. The curriculum applies insights from scientific, management and engineering perspectives to analyze how to align people and technology effectively to generate value for both services providers and clients.
