Minors in the College of Management
The purpose of a minor is to help students acquire knowledge which supports their major and adds breadth to their education.
The College of Management offers three minors:
Accounting
Business Administration
EconomicsOther Minors available at NC State (e.g. Spanish, Psychology)
Minor in Accounting
Upon completion of the Accounting Minor you will:
- Be familiar with the areas of financial accounting, managerial accounting, and income taxation
- Understand that accounting is an information system for measuring, processing, and communicating financial information about economic entities
- Understand how accounting information allows users to make reasoned choices among alternative uses of scarce resources in the conduct of business and economic activities
Minor in Business Administration
The Department of Business Management offers a Business Administration Minor to undergraduates other than those majoring in Accounting (ACC).
Students majoring in Textile and Apparel Management (TXT) or Agricultural Business Management (ABM) may count up to 6 hours of credit used to meet their major requirements towards the Business Administration Minor.
Undergraduate Accounting (ACC) majors are not eligible for this minor.
Application Deadlines:
September 15th, February 15th, June 1st
Students will be notified one month after the application deadline regarding the status of their application.
Note - this only applies to BUS minor - not ACC or EC.

The Entrepreneurship Minor previously offered in the College of Management was reconfigured effective June 2009. Non-business major students interested in entrepreneurship studies may now seek admission into the Business Administration minor in entrepreneurship. Details about the Business Administration minor are available on the Business Administration Minor web page.
Students who began working toward the former Minor in Entrepreneurship (and have completed MIE310 and MIE311) should consult with the College of Management's Undergraduate Programs advisors to complete the coursework for the minor through Spring 2011. The following requirements continue to apply to students who began working toward the former Entrepreneurship Minor.
Minor in Economics
The Minor in Economics is designed to give students an understanding of theory and methods of economics and to introduce them to the application of economics to contemporary social issues. The minor in economics is an excellent compliment to many fields of study in the University.
