Last day to drop classes

The last day to withdraw or drop a course without a grade at the 400 level or below is February 21, 2007. This is also the last day to change from credit to audit at the 400 level or below and the last day to change to credit only. All Request for Course Repeat Without Penalty forms must be submitted by this day. Pack Tracks closes for Undergraduate drops at 11:59 p.m. If you are dropping below 12 hours you must see the Assistant Dean for Undergraduate programs for approval to process the drop. This cannot be done through Pack Tracks . Any drops after this date will be governed by the University 's late drop policy.

Accounting students providing income tax prep assistance

NC State students, employees, and area community residents with an annual household income of $39,000 or below can receive free assistance with their income tax returns this year, beginning Feb. 10. Society of African American Corporate Leaders and the National Association of Black Accountants to hold joint meeting

Society of African American Corporate Leaders/National Association of Black Accountants will host a joint meeting on February 20,2007, 6:00 PM, 1206 Nelson Hall. The Meeting will feature an Alumni Panel from the College of Management. For more information please contact Brittany Gilliard.

Peer Leaders Info Session

Freshmen, sophomores and juniors in the College of Management who are interested in being a positive role model for the college's incoming freshman class are invited to attend an informational session to learn about the Peer Leaders Club. A brief summary is available on the college's student organizations web page. Info sessions will be held Thursday, Feb. 15, and Monday, Feb. 19 in the Nelson Board Room, third floor, 6 p.m.

Study Abroad Grants Available

Applications are due Feb. 15 for the National Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi's 2007-2008 Study Abroad grant program. Both members of Phi Kappa Phi as well as non-members are eligible to apply. The study abroad program must be taken between May 1, 2007, and June 30, 2008. Application and details are available on the national AKP website's scholarships/study abroad pages. Daylight-saving time comes early

This is a reminder that due to the Energy Policy Act of 2005, Daylight-saving time will begin on March 11, three weeks sooner than normal.  For more information check out the article in the News and Observer.

Seminars, panel discussions focus on Global Warming

Global Warming is the focus of a series of panel discussions and seminars - plus a musical performance - to be held Feb. 26-28 at NC State. Scheduled are

- Feb. 26: A presentation by author Elizabeth Kilbert about Man, Nature and Climate Change a panel discussion on Feb. 27, 4 p.m., at the Talley Student Center, followed by an Arts Now Series concert at 7 p.m. [flier]

- Feb. 27: Panel discussion on Global Warming: International Perspectives, at 4 p.m., followed by an Arts Now Series concert at 7 p.m. [flier]

- Feb. 28: Presentation by David Archer on Global Warming: Understanding the Forecast. [flier]
