Net Impact welcomes national founder
The NC State chapter of Net Impact will be hosting guest speaker Dr. Mark Albion on February 7, at 4:30 pm in Nelson 3210. The Net Impact organization seeks to improve the world by growing and strengthening a network of new leaders who are using the power of business to make a positive net social, environmental, and economic impact.
Dr. Albion is one of the cofounders of the national organization, as well as the author of several books, including his most recent, True to Yourself: Leading a Values Based Business. Dr. Albion, a former Harvard Business School Professor, will be discussing the value of leadership as it relates to social and environmental responsibility. The event is open to the public. Information for those interested in Law School

Florida State University School of Law will be on campus to discuss their Summer Programs for undergraduates interested in participating in a law school experience.
The Summer for Undergraduates Program is designed to acquaint students from groups historically underrepresented in the legal profession with the study of law;to encourage students to pursue careers in the legal profession; and to assist students in acquiring skills that will benefit undergraduate studies and future law school studies.
An NC State 2006 participant wrote: " This experience was once in a lifetime for me. I have made so many connections that although we are now a few states apart, I can call on them for advice about the legal profession in general and how to prepare for and survive law school. I would do this whole thing again, just to keep me focused on my goal of attending law school and becoming an attorney.

Peer Leaders Info Session
Freshmen, sophomores and juniors in the College of Management who are interested in being a positive role model for the college's incoming freshman class are invited to attend an informational session to learn about the Peer Leaders Club. A brief summary is available on the college's student organizations web page. Info sessions will be held Thursday, Feb. 14, and Monday, Feb. 19 in the Nelson Board Room, third floor.
Hot Chocolate with COMSAB
Join the College of Management Student Advisory Board for hot chocolate and a chance to learn about student organizations at the college. This event will be held Wednesday, Feb. 7, 8:00 - 10:00 am. in the Nelson Student Commons. Stop by for free hot chocolate and learn more about all of the COM student organizations.
Counseling Center releases Spring 2007 Workshop Calendar

Study Abroad Grants Available
The National Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi is requesting applications for its 2007-2008 Study Abroad grant program. Both members of Phi Kappa Phi as well as non-members are eligible to apply. The study abroad program must be taken between May 1, 2007, and June 30, 2008. Applications are due Feb. 15, 2007. India Day at Exploris on Feb. 3
On Saturday, February 3rd 2007 from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm, Exploris and the Indian American Community will host India Day, a celebration of India, its people and culture. The festivities will include food, performances, hands-on activities and cultural demonstrations exploring both traditional and contemporary India, all culminating with the dedication of a life size bronze statue of Mahatma Gandhi.
The dedication ceremony will begin at 2:00 pm with a performance of Gandhi’s favorite Indian folk song, to be followed by words from community leaders Tony Gurley, chair of Wake County Board of Commissioners, Arvind Shah of the Indian American Forum for Political Education, and Thakorbhai Parekh, who was associated with Mahatma Gandhi for 32 years.
Complimenting the weekend’s activities will be the showing of the IMAX film Mystic India: an incredible journey of inspiration. This film reveals the rich culture of India as it follows the incredible journey of Neelkanth, a young boy who walked for seven years and 8,000 miles across this vast land. Audiences will experience India’s geographic and cultural diversity, revel in the natural beauty of its land and architecture, and celebrate its spectacular festivals and spiritual wonders.
