Freshmen

Requirements for admission to the College of Management:

  • Students should have an A to B+ high school average with a strong college preparatory curriculum.
  • Students should have SAT scores in the 1100-1300 range (highest math and critical reading score will be combined for best overall score); ACT scores in the 24-30 range.

These are only general guidelines; in addition to the high school record and SAT/ACT scores, high school activities, essay and honors will be considered to a lesser degree.

To Apply

To apply, students must submit the following to the NC State Office of Undergraduate Admissions:

  • An NC State application and application fee (Create an online account today!)
  • High school transcript, sent from the school directly to NC State
  • SAT or ACT scores, sent from the testing service directly to NC State

NC State's Office of Undergraduate Admissions manages all applications for admission to the College of Management.

Deadlines 

  • October 15 (Notification Date December 15)
  • November 1 (Notification Date January 30)
  • February 1 (Notification Date March 30)

Off-Campus College Transfer Students

Admission is competitive and is based on academic record and space available in the College of Management. Students will be considered for admission if they meet all of the following requirements; however, meeting these requirements does not guarantee admission.

To be considered competitive for admission to the College of Management:

  • The student should have completed 30 semester (or 45 quarter) hours of college transferable work (i.e. not remedial or technical).
  • The student should have a 3.0 or better GPA combined average (based on ALL college level work).
  • The student should have completed one college-level English course with a C- or better.
  • The student should have completed a college-level Calculus course with a C- or better.

  • April 1 - Summer/Fall Admissions
  • November 1 - Spring Admissions

Lifelong/UGS/PBS/or Continuing Education students at NC State

Requirements are generally the same as for Off-Campus Transfers. Any credits completed at NC State will be calculated as part of the total "transfer" GPA. For more information visit the Credit Programs website.

On-Campus Transfer Students

Admission to the College of Management is competitive and is based on academic record and space available in the College. Students will be considered for admission if they meet all of the following requirements. Meeting these requirements does not guarantee admission.

  • Attempted 30 hours of college level coursework (at least 21 hours at NC State)
  • Completed English 101 (with a C- or better)
  • Completed Calculus - MA 121,131 or 141 (with a C- or better)

In addition to the above, students will be considered competitive for admission if they have achieved the following requirements. Meeting these achievements does not guarantee admission.

  • 3.0 or better cumulative NC State GPA
  • 3.0 or better College of Management GPA (calculated on ACC, BUS, EC courses)
  • Completion of 60 credit hours or less (i.e. students are encouraged to apply earlier in their program rather than later)
